5/27/2018 - WARRIOR
"Lord is with me like a mighty warrior." Jeremiah 20:11
A warrior is a brave or experienced soldier or fighter. Synonyms to being a warrior is fighter, soldier, serviceman, combatant, and mercenary. Warriors and soldiers are similar, but also different. There is only one way that a soldier can become a warrior, that is to close with the enemy and to kill him. To be a warrior is to risk death or dismemberment in close combat against the enemy. Warriors risk it all. It is similar for the Native Americans, with the difference of brave versus warrior. Braves showed personal bravery through "counting coup". This is accomplished while during battle or a raid by touching as many enemy as possible with a coup stick, this distinguished the brace from the regular young Native male. However, the Natives that were warriors did not bother "counting coup", they collected scalps and tied them to a lance or to their belt. This is the "attitude" we need, not the running around and collecting scalps, but the risk it all mentality. We need to stick out from the regular worldly people. We are called for one purpose that is to love everyone and to spread the Word. We are called to be warriors in Christ. We have to be ready for battle on a daily basis. We have to be ready to be up close and personal. The devil does not take any days off. Jesus does not take any days off, and neither should we. We have to sometimes put our head down and run straight, and put our full trust in God. Ephesians 6:10-18, talks about putting on the armor of God. One example of a warrior in Christ, is being a prayer warrior. This is something that we can all be. We have to have an initiative, intent, and passion. Prayer is something that is very important to your personal spiritual growth. Prayer also helps grow your love for people, it makes your heart more open for the love of God. Prayer and the Word is your ammo on the Spiritual Battle Front. God is the one that is fighting for us, but when we pray and have the Word He is that much stronger. Prayer is something that we can do anywhere. We can pray in the car, while walking, showering, in bed, eyes open or closed, sitting, standing, kneeling, literally anywhere and any how. As long as your soul is kneeling in submission and you are surrendering your soul to God then you are good. God hears all prayers, he ear is no too dull. 1 John 5:14 says, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” Jesus was a warrior. He was and is constantly on the front line for his Father, our Father. He was never shy to say what was up. He was never shy to help someone in need. No matter others thought he helped people, even if went against societal norms. He prayed for, healed, and spread the Word to everyone. He started the mission, he is our commanding General, we are called to finish to the mission. He already laid out the battle plans and was the leading example, we just have to follow it. He showed how he was truly a warrior when he sacrificed himself for us. He was the ultimate warrior. When the scripture says that “Lord is with me like a mighty warrior” it means that his presence is strong. He shows extreme love and extreme strength. God stops at nothing for us, and he is always ready to battle for us. We have to risk it all for God, he would do and does the same for us. God is an Almighty Ultimate God. Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” He gives us our strength, our breath, and our life. Isaiah 42:13 says, “The Lord will march out like a champion, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies.” God is our hype man. He is the one on the front line, he is the first one to run into battle. “The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is his name” (Exodus 15:3).
Lord, thank you for all you do. You truly are an amazing God. Thank you for the strength, the wisdom, and your Word. You are the Almighty Ultimate Warrior, allow us to follow your example. Continue to protect us and give us strength. Allow your Word and your love to be our armor. I pray this in Jesus’s name, Amen.
